Eight Arch Brewing Co reveals six-figure investment in new production centre
The brewer has signed a 10-year lease on a 534m2 warehouse, advised by Vail Williams, which has been transformed into a production centre and tap room. Eight Arch Brewing Co relocated the business from a smaller nearby premises.
Founder and managing director Steve Farrell said: “This signing of the 10-year lease on our new premises underlines our long-term commitment to Wimborne. This is our third brewery in Stone Lane during 10 years of Eight Arch, with each move prompted by growing demand for our products and because of the popularity of our Tap Room.
Independent brewer
“The founding of Eight Arch represented the first time in 80 years that an independent brewery had made and sold beer in the town.
“We’ve had an incredibly warm welcome from the local community since moving in and look forward to striking up more supplier partnerships with pubs, clubs and restaurants which champion ‘buy local’ and are also looking to reduce transport emissions and costs.”
Founded by Farrell in 2015, Eight Arch Brewing produces a range of beers it sells primarily in and around the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole areas and currently employs five people.
Previous owner
The detached two-storey building, with a mezzanine floor and previously occupied by emporium Toad Hall, is owned through the commercial property arm of property developer Harry J Palmer.
Bryony Thompson, a Vail Williams’ Associate working out of the consultancy’s Bournemouth office, added: “The vacant warehouse at Stone Lane Industrial Estate serves as the ideal expansion location for Eight Arch Brewing Co. Steve and his team have worked tirelessly to create bigger and better premise for their national award-winning beers and Tap Room.”
Meanwhile, UK beer manufacturer Greene King has announced plans to invest £40m into the development of a “state-of-the-art” brewery in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
Slated for completion in 2027, the brewery will be located next to Greene King’s recently completed multi-million-pound distribution centre and will “significantly” improve the sustainability of its brewing operation.
